SIMnet Introduction

There are six parts to today's lab:
Part 1: Your lab instructor will take attendance to verify you are enrolled in the correct CS101 lab section.
Part 2: Your lab instructor will demonstrate how to login and use SIMnet.
Part 3: Your lab instructor will step you through how to register into correct SIMnet course section.
Part 4: You will login to SIMnet and start the 'First Lecture Exam'.
Part 5: You will login to SIMnet and start the 'Essential Skills for Microsoft Office Exam'.
Part 6: Conclude today's lab making a plan to complete the exams before the deadline.

Lab Directions:

Part 1: Your lab instructor will take attendance to verify you are enrolled in the correct CS101 lab section.
Your lab instructor will take attendance to makes sure you are enrolled in the correct CS101 lab section before you enroll into SIMnet. 

Part 2: Your lab instructor will demonstrate how to login and use SIMnet.
The SIMnet software will be used to assess your abilities in the various Microsoft Office applications, train you in any skills you need to learn, and assess you after training is complete.  Your instructor will demonstrate how to login and use SIMnet for these purposes.

Part 3: Register into correct SIMnet course section.
You will not be able to complete your enrollment into a SIMnet course until your instructor gives you the required course information during your second lab meeting. In order to use SIMnet you must register into the correct SIMnet course section.  To register you will need a SIMnet access code.  A SIMnet access code can be obtained  directly from the Sonoma SIMnet web site for $75 using a credit or dept card during your second lab meeting.

Part 4: Login to SIMnet and start the First Lecture Exam.
Your instructor will explain how to start the First Lecture Exam.  The exam is for a grade.  You can save the exam and reopen it.  Complete the whole exam before the deadline.

Part 5: Start 'Essential Skills for Microsoft Office Exam'.
As demonstrated by your instructor earlier use the SIMnet training as needed for 'Essential Skills for Microsoft Office' exam.   You are required to open the training for 'Essential Skills for Microsoft Office' and start the 'Essential Skills for Microsoft Office Exam' before you leave lab today.  Make sure to complete the exam before the deadline.

Part 6: Conclude today's lab making a plan to complete the exams before the deadline.
To conclude today's lab make sure you have either completed the exams, or come up with a plan to complete the exams before the required deadlines.  Here is the SIMnet login:
